When people say that when Obama speaks it is all about Obama, they could be on to something. Via Byron York

Yes, those are the words of the president, last night at the Democratic National Committee fundraiser in Washington. After listing his administration's accomplishments and vowing that "our most urgent task is job creation," Obama pledged to keep fighting for a national health care system. "We knew this was hard," Obama said. And then he described a letter he received from a campaign worker who suffered from breast cancer and has since died:

I got a letter — I got a note today from one of my staff — they forwarded it to me — from a woman in St. Louis who had been part of our campaign, very active, who had passed away from breast cancer. She didn't have insurance. She couldn't afford it, so she had put off having the kind of exams that she needed. And she had fought a tough battle for four years. All through the campaign she was fighting it, but finally she succumbed to it. And she insisted she's going to be buried in an Obama t-shirt.

As Byron mentions, this is not about making fun of the woman, whatever her name is, since Obama couldn't be bothered to learn what it was. This is about a president who just cannot avoid making everything all about himself. He also didn't take the time to learn that the woman did, in fact, have some health insurance.

As the saying goes, just imagine had Bush pulled something like this, along with his "corpse-man" gaffe. Imagine the non-stop coverage by the Old Media, telling us how dumb Bush was, and how this was disrespectful. Imagine the MSM investigating the deceased for weeks. As Ace writes

Everyone is the hero of their own life-story, as they say.

President Obama is proud to steal scenes in everyone else's life-movie too.

If you show up at the Pearly Gates with an Obama t-shirt, do you really expect them to let you in?

AMES - The Iowa State men's basketball team will have a different look on Saturday when it takes the court at 1 p.m. against nationally ranked Kansas State on ESPN2. The Cyclones will sport pink shoes and jerseys with pink lettering to raise awareness for and help promote the fight against breast cancer.

The Cyclones are among four schools in the nation – Brigham Young, Illinois, Oregon – Nike has outfitted with pink-highlighted uniforms and shoes for the important cause. The ISU Athletics Department and Hy-Vee are teaming together to sponsor a "Pink Out" game in Hilton Coliseum on Saturday. Students in Cyclone Alley will don pink shirts and the general public is encouraged to wear pink clothing to the game.

Members of the Iowa State coaching staff already know the dangers of breast cancer. ISU head coach Greg McDermott's wife, Theresa, and graduate assistant Bryan Petersen's mother, Karen, are both breast cancer survivors.

The decision to wear pink this weekend was an easy one for McDermott.

"It's important for our team to help in this cause, and that is the fight against breast cancer," McDermott said. "I know first-hand the importance of early detection in the treatment of breast cancer. By wearing pink we hope to raise awareness at the national level so that women of all ages are reminded to be proactive with their health."

The McDermotts annually participate in "Hoops for Hope," a fundraising gala benefitting the American Cancer Society. Coaches from the three other Division I schools in Iowa plus marquee college basketball coaches across the nation visit Des Moines each year to raise money for the ACS.
